Department for Transport publish Road Conditions in England 201405 Mar 2015
This morning (5 March) the Department for Transport (DfT) published Road Conditions in England 2014. This year, the DfT have introduced a new series presenting figures on the condition of local authority managed principal 'A' roads and non-principal 'B' and 'C' roads at a regional and national level from 2007/8 to 2013/4: click here for more information.
The headline figures from the publication are:
- In 2013/ 14, LAs reported that 4 per cent of the principal 'A' road network in England should have been considered for maintenance, the same as in 2012/13 and 1 percentage point lower than in 2007/8
- In 2013/14, 8 per cent of the non-principal classified 'B' and 'C' road network in England should have been considered for maintenance. This was a decrease of 1 percentage point from 2012/13 and the same as in 2007/08.
