HMEP: Working with the Highways Sector
HMEP's work is for the highways sector, by the highways sector; to support it on the journey to transform highway services.
Achieving the level of required change needs the highways sector to share, collaborate and work together to help make England’s roads fit for the future.
Working collaboratively: communicating the benefits of change to local highway authorities leaders, practitioners, providers, elected members and local politicians is vital, so that they all positively engage and take action.
HMEP works with a variety of people and organisations including the HMEP Board, HMEP Advocates (drawn from clients and providers) as well as the media and other organisations to show how HMEP is helping to transform future highway services.
Here are just a few of the ways HMEP is currently working with the sector:
Communicating the benefits of change: equipping the sector to help spread the word and support the delivery of change through a variety of national and local keynote speakers, events and sharing of practices.
Providing examples of HMEP products and resources: equipping the sector with ‘on the ground’ examples of efficiency practices ‘in action’.
Drawing on other support and resources: such as the All Party Parliamentary Group, the Association for Public Service Excellence, the Cabinet Office and Infrastructure UK to identify and implement change.

Connect with fellow professionals from across the highways sector and access real examples that can help ignite ideas.
Share your ‘real life’ efficiency practices, stories and experiences; to help other people, organisations and networks achieve greater efficiency.
